Reverie: Sweet As Edition is an enhanced version of the original release from 2018 that adds QOL improvements, a new mini-game and a post-game dungeon.

Some of Rainbite's inspirations for Reverie are apparent right from the start. It's a 2D Zelda styled adventure with the visual aesthetic of Game Boy Advance era titles like Mother 3, but it's their use of a traditional Māori legend, a modern setting, and many pop culture references to their home country of New Zealand/Aotearoa that make it stand out.

For the most part, it's a relatively cozy experience that only ramps up in difficulty with some tougher puzzles and enemies during the final dungeon. Even if you die, you'll be sent back to the entrance with full health, so retrying a section never felt unfair. The post-game was a bit underwhelming as it's essentially just a gauntlet of regular enemies and mini bosses, but it was still nice to have more content.

For trophy hunters everything can be completed in one playthrough, there are no missables and it took a bit under 7 hours to get the Platinum.
